HEY, it’s mckenzie

— The one with a capital ‘K’.

Not Mackenzie. Not Mckinsey. Not Mckenzie.

Why my mother decided to put two capital letters in my name is beyond me but, from this day forward, I’m making it everyone else’s problem. Capitalizing the 'K' in my name acknowledges that the English language is evil but also shows you sympathize with my lifelong struggle.

Imagine a world wear every won nose you’re name and pronounces it the write weigh butt canned ever manage too spell it correctly.

See my point?

It might sound the same but I’m not like all the other lowercase Mckenzie’s in the world. I’m a homophone aficionado. That’s how I landed this gig as a copywriter— the advertising kind, not the scary legal kind.

All this to say, I’m very passionate about what I do and would love to capitalize on an opportunity with you soon.

We’ll save my homograph rant for the interview. ; )

Fun facts

  • My Snazzy Headshot

As a Christmas present for my mom, my sisters and I got those awkward, 80s style family photos taken at JC Penny.

A little Photoshop and a few doodles later, this pic got repurposed as my professional headshot. For my football fans out there, Who Dey.

  • wolf enthusiast

As a kid, I volunteered at a place in Battleground, Indiana called Wolf Park. I fed wolves, made “enrichment” toys, and had the opportunity to play with the wolf pups one summer.

Unfortunately, I have no photos of the pups so here is a picture of me looking like an absolute stud in the middle of a bowling alley instead.

  • Drag Connoisseur

I love all things drag, specifically Trixie Mattel.

Sometimes for fun, I’ll do drag makeup and go out to do random things.

Here is a pic of me at Taco Bell.

  • My kid

    This is Kody.

I picked him out when he popped out on Facetime. He was the third puppy born. 3 is my lucky number.

    Bada bing, bada boom… Kody.

  • My Personal Hell

In high school, my friend Jacob tricked me into working at Ali Industries in Fairborn, OH packaging sandpaper sponges in an assembly line.

He got fired 3 days after I got hired and I was stuck there for 9 months of my life I’ll never get back.

  • Cigarette Sign Collector

Don’t know how it got started but I collect vintage cigarette signs.

    No, I don’t smoke.

Yes, they look freaking sick on my wall.
